Obesity Behind Alzheimer's Rise!
Experts at the Alzheimer’s Society predict in 50 years 2.5 million people will have dementia unless the obesity epidemic is brought under control. Around 700,000 people have dementia, the most recognised of these conditions is Alzheimer. Although the most common cause is age, reducing high blood pressure, high cholesterol and having a better diet would help reduce the risks. It’s thought because people are living longer figures are

expected to rise to 1.5 million but current lifestyles are set to add to this figure. Professor Clive Ballard of the Alzheimer’s Society says “People who are obese at 60 are twice as likely to develop dementia by the time they are 75” adding the research shows exercise and healthy lifestyle can help reduce the risks.
